Shadow Cats

Shadow cat

The shadow cat is a creature alleged to exist outside the planes of our normal reality. Many say they appear out of the corner of your eye - a flash in your peripheral vision. Some speculate that they are the ghosts of past cats.

Reports vary, but some sightings indicate that the shadow cat will flee once it knows it has been seen or noticed. While the shadow cats are associated with a dark side of our world, they are not assumed to be negative or evil creatures. Rather, their sudden appearance and disappearance is the result of their surprise, their caution and their need to flee.

Some believe that the cats are manifestations of living cats that exist in another dimension. For a brief moment, the cat appears in our dimension and is visible. In the next instant, the cat is gone. Any person seeing a shadow cat will most likely doubt that they saw it, wonder if their eyes are working, and dismiss it.

There are many people who report repeated sightings: a black shapeless creature running through a hallway or disappearing around a corner; a shadow following a real pet as it scampers down the stairs. No one can say for sure if this phenomenon is real or not, but there are many who believe in shadow cats.  However, there are experts who claim shadow creatures do not exist and are simply normal vision issues or just imagination.

Do you believe in shadow cats?  If so, have you ever seen one?

Never heard of shadow cats before, but I do believe in floating dark spots, shadow people, etc.

Well, you know, cats can be mysterious creatures, shadow or not. I haven't heard of shadow cats, or I don't recall, but they're interesting!

Not just cats, I believe in shadow everything-- from another dimension.

I had heard of shadow cats, but I didn't know much about them until I did some research.

When my childhood cat died years ago at a ripe, old age, I kept seeing a shadow around me. I just took it as the expectation that a furry animal should be wandering through my home, since I was so used to his presence. I stopped seeing this figure after a few months, so I attribute it to expectation and grief.

I'm sorry your cat died, and thanks for sharing your story.

I know of a few people who are deathly afraid of cats, now i wonder if this is the reason.

Could be one of them!

On ocassion I see what I think is my young tuxedo cat running through a doorway in my periphal vision only to find him between my legs but often on the same course as doppleganger alternate dimension cat, which does make me wonder if my cat is a lot more aware of this shadow cat presence than just the glimpse I catch. Since i moved into this victorian house I've witnessed this shadow cat just a few too many times to be able to debunk it. I never saw it in my previous house though i had my cat then so assume this is a location phenomenon, but whether a ghost of a previous cat or a weakness in the "dimensional fabric" i couldn't say
